A new potential stream of additional revenue just opened up
for website owners and webmasters looking to earn more money
through affiliate-style marketing programs. FindWhat.com announced
last Thursday the expansion of its AdRevenue Xpress (ARX) program
to all Web publishers, regardless of whether they currently advertise
with FindWhat, or the amount of traffic a publisher's site receives.
The service is similar to Google's AdWords program. "FindWhat.com's commitment to help small-to-medium size businesses grow is fully evident in the expansion of our already successful AdRevenue Xpress program," said Phillip Thune, president and chief operating officer for FindWhat.com in a released statement.
"Fundamentally, ARX provides Web publishers an easy way to monetize Website traffic. So not only can Web publishers earn extra revenue, they can also fine tune their implementation to maximize opportunities with a robust set of reporting tools and metrics that measure keyword performance."
ARX is much less "intrusive" than the options allotted by AdWords. Instead of large blocks of text ads filling up a designated space, publishers using ARX will have a small section that only contains target keywords. Clicking on any of those keywords will take a site visitor to a sponsored search page hosted on the publisher's server.
When using ARX, you have a choice of using a search box, category directory or custom 404 error page. Dynamic content is also available for users who want to play with the more advanced advertising features.
An online account manager allows tracking of partners' ad programs, providing detailed search, revenue and click reports. "We listened carefully to what publishers said they needed to be successful," Thune said.
"As a result, ARX gives Web publishers more control and flexibility on how listings appear.
Publishers select how they want relevant ads to appear rather than being limited to an automated contextual solution. With ARX, Web publishers also have the choice on whether or not to use FindWhat.com branding."
Custom search boxes and keyword links can earn any Web publisher extra money through FindWhat.com's AdRevenue Xpress program.
Joining the ARX program is simple: A step-by-step wizard allows partners to add search box and/or directory functionality to show ads from the FindWhat network.
Partners share a percentage of the revenue earned by FindWhat.com when their site visitors click on an ad.
Michael Donohoe, president of Webhuntitdown.com, seemed happy with his experience with ARX.
"As a small business owner, AdRevenue Xpress provides a great source of new revenue," said Donohoe. "FindWhat.com will either send us a check, remit payment through PayPal, or, if we so choose will contribute an additional 10 percent if we transfer those funds into our advertising account."
